the cutest ewok kitty costume
I wish I had found this super cute costume a few days ago so I could’ve included it in my Caturday Collection: Cats in Costume post, but ah well, as a Star Wars-lover, I think it deserves a post of its own!
Megan, the creator of the costume says:
This year, I opted not to carve a pumpkin. Instead, I channeled my crafty impulses into making something for Lilly. Something awesome. I made her a Wicket costume.
Thank goodness Ewok headdresses are so poorly sewn (Ewoks may have opposable thumbs but they’re still pretty bad with a needle), it makes my ineptitude look authentic.
video double feature: jedi kittens

A couple weeks ago, a short clip was released featuring a couple of kittens battling with lightsabers. The Star Wars-loving cat lady in me is a bit ashamed for not posting it (I believe I was too busy freaking out over readying myself for Dragon*Con), so here it is now, followed by its sequel, Jedi Kittens Strike Back, which was released a couple of days ago.
Will there be a third installment to complete the trilogy? I certainly hope so!
And for all of those who might be concerned about the treatment of the cats, they were treated very gently and were not harmed.
a mew hope: princess leia kitty hat
This is one of the best things my nerdy, cat-loving self has ever seen!
From The Official Star Wars Blog:
This may be one of the coolest cats in the galaxy.
Crafty Star Wars fan Jennifer Kumpf tweeted to us: “Hey @starwars, Check out my Leia hat I knitted for my friend’s cat!”
We can’t wait to see more! Who knows… ever since artist Katie Cook tweeted: “I’m going to start a Kickstarter project to help me fund re-filming Star Wars scene by scene… With an all kitten cast,” we can’t help but wonder if this isn’t the perfect match for Princess Leia.

quernus crafts star wars cats
Today is May 4th, which means it’s Star Wars Day! (May the fourth, get it?) Since I’ve already done a Star Wars post, I wasn’t sure what I could post today to celebrate. But then I remembered these little guys that I found while putting together that other post.
Here we’ve got kittified versions of Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and Darth Vader. These three polymer clay figures were a commissioned piece by Kirsten Miller of Quernus Crafts, who makes all sorts of delightful little clay figures. Aren’t they cute?
She also did another set of Star Wars kitties, this time R2-D2, Han in carbonite, and Slave Leia. Although the first set are classic, I like this set a bit more because it’s even quirkier. I love the little Artoo with kitty ears!
cats in star wars helmets
As you all know, I’m a big Star Wars fan. So when I came across this new piece by Katie Cook, I felt I had to share its awesomeness right away!
So cute! I think I may just have to buy it once it becomes available online. :3
CAT-CAT walker shirt
How convenient that right after my Star Wars post, a shirt like this should appear!
I would have made the Empire unstoppable, starting with an AT-AT redesign. What person would want to take this adorable vehicle of mass death down?
