Ack, it’s been a while since I’ve done a Maneki Neko Monday! I found this photo on Tumblr and though I’m not a big tea drinker, I would absolutely love to have this set.
Maneki neko and daruma made from wood and painted, by Flickr user into the deep of my soul. The little orange cat is ceramic and, I’m assuming from the creator’s description, is an Italian-style kitty.
Tumblr user Tigerlily33, a self-described amateur artist and photographer, painted these cute Maneki Nekos on her wall. How awesome would it be to wake up and see those every day? Click the image to view a larger version with all the details!
Says artist pronouncedyou, “I wanted to draw another Maneki Neko but make it more contemporary, so here’s a mixture of cool, hipster stuff and awesome Japanese culture.
And the vinyl he’s holding? Yeah, it’s of a band you’ve probably never heard of.”
Haha! This makes me laugh. I love the modern-day twist, especially the plaid bib and Chucks.
