cat vs human: relocation
Yasmine says on her blog:
I relocated to San Francisco for a design job while Victor and the pets remained in Phoenix. We were apart for about a year prior to them moving with me. This is how we communicated every day. I would lay on the floor, on a 2-inch mattress as I would watch my cats through the computer. Fortunately, computers are cat magnets.
Oh man, I don’t think I could be apart from my cats for a year. I’d love to go teach English overseas but my cats hold me back. I love my cats more than anything, but a little piece of me gets upset that I can’t do the things I want because of them. Oh, I could leave them with someone, but I’m not sure I trust leaving them with anyone for a year, even my boyfriend. But even more importantly, I don’t think I could stand being away from them for so long.
cat vs human: can you move a wee bit please?
We’ve got a king size bed, so we don’t really have this problem. Our cats don’t tend to sleep on the bed at the same time, either. Which is probably for the better, but sometimes I want them all up there so we can have a giant furry cuddle fest.
