monday madhouse: clementine edition

So, Monday Madhouse isn’t a regular feature for us, but as Clementine has stirred up some trouble in the Hellcat household this morning, it felt like the only appropriate title.

I went outside this morning and heard some meowing. Guess who decided to scale a tree beside our house and climb up on the roof?

That would be little Clementine, who was just SO PROUD of herself and happy to show me that she can now get up and down on the roof no problem. At first, I thought she didn’t realize she could get back down, but she quickly found her tree access point and easily hopped into it–totally fearless.

She came down to greet me incredibly excited about her newfound hideout. Clementine loves to scale and climb things, and has never had an issue getting back down, perhaps because she’s conscious of how small she is. REGARDLESS, BAD CLEMMIE!

kitty tree adventure!

It’s no secret that Clementine likes to climb trees. She’s extremely agile, and can get up and down from any tree (so far). Pickles, on the other hand, likes to run at trees and hang on the trunk to show off, and usually when she gets up in a tree, she has problems getting down. She’s had to be rescued twice.

Whenever they are outside together and Clem gets in a tree, Pickles always tries to follow, not to be outdone. Luckily, this time they hung out in a lower-to-the-ground tree, so it was no problem for Pick. Check out these cuuuute photos, courtesy of my sis! Click each image to view a larger version! <3

She’s so serious about her tree-time.

so serious about nature.

Pickles the Drummer looks like a panther in the jungle, here!

like a true panthercat!

I wonder, what caught her attention?

what do you see, clem?

Happy Pickle in a tree.

can you spot pickles?

The weather is wonderful, and my three kitties are loving it outside!

There used to be a fancy garden in the property beside ours, but since the owner sold us our house, he’s let it fall to the wayside over the years. It’s now quite overgrown and a beloved playground for my cats.

Yesterday, they were all hanging out there together! Clementine is in the foreground (naturally!) and Kitty is resting in the grass. Can you spot Pickles in this photo (click the photo to enlarge)?

can you see where pickles is hiding?

Have you found her? She was hiding on a big rock!

friday’s featured feline: clementine

For this week’s Featured Feline, I just had to steal the spolight for Clementine (she’d have it no other way).

hello!

Clemmie actually has a neat story. Before Pixelcat and I really even knew each other, she found Clementine as a stray kitten. She named her Clementine, both because she was tiny and orange, and in keeping with her other cats’ plant-themed names (Kudzu, Juniper, and Olive!). Clementine was a perfect fit!

little clementine

Pixelcat had to move to a different apartment, and Clementine moved in with a mutual friend of ours. I moved in with this friend, and simply fell in love with Clem! When our lease was up, Clementine came to live with me in a new apartment just around the time Pixelcat and I were becoming closer friends! I’d had no idea Clementine had even been found by Pixelcat.

cuddly clementine.

While all cats know they are the boss of any household, Clementine is absolutely the queen. She just exudes nobility, all prim and proper. Just look at that elegant tail curl!

snob.

And make no mistake, though she’s a sweetheart and very playful, she can be a little cranky. This hasn’t changed much since she was a kitten:

I’ve also never seen a cat that can curl up into a tighter ball than Clemmie can, when she just wants to get away from it all:

Clementine is an excellent hunter. She brings us back many unfortunate prizes. I prefer her to play with her toys. She is always first to catch the golden snitch:

It’s wonderful to have such a lovely, playful, stubborn cat like Clemmie. She’s so unique, especially in that she never grew much bigger than kitten-size. I’m so happy to have given this little orange a home!

peaceful clementine.

LAWYER CAT OBJECTS!

Spring Break came and went unbearably quickly for me! There was so much I meant to accomplish! Of course, this also means there was so much homework I neglected, which I am now struggling to catch up with.

The main project I have tonight is to write Motions to file in “Court” for my Civil Procedure class, because I fancy myself a future lawyer. A friend showed me Lawyer Cat awhile ago, and Lawyer Cat always cheers me up when I find myself swamped in all these legal classes.

Right now, I object to everything too, Lawyer Cat.

Except for this…

Cute Clementine competing with the adorable gingers from today’s Sleepy Sunday. I don’t think even Lawyer Cat objects to that…

clementine’s favorite perch

Being such a tiny cat (which has always been her affectionate nickname), Clementine can easily perch & ride on shoulders!

She has taken quite a liking to my brother’s shoulders, as well.

He’s not sure how he feels about it.
