pixelcat’s birthday treats!
Though I’ve still got one more (unfortunately belated) birthday treat for Pixelcat in store, she baked cupcakes and on Tuesday we got together and decorated them! She made spice cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes, with cream cheese icing for the spice cakes, and I made some black buttercream icing (black is my favorite color, and I just had to make a couple of black cat cupcakes). The result was kitty cupcakes galore!

Now, for some detail shots!

This little piggy was a bit of an accident… The decorating tube of pink icing hadn’t quite been coming out right, and it finally decided to as I was making a white kitty’s nose. So, it turned into a pig.

Pixelcat had the fantastic idea to get Goldfish Graham Crackers. This little kitty is just eating them up!

After the pink icing decided to work, I changed tips to make a fuzzy pink lion-like kitty.

Love this little white kitty by Pixelcat, especially the pink icing on the Graham Cracker ears! The nose is a perfect cut from a piece of Starburst candy. This kitty reminds me of those Kitty Kitty Kittens toys from our childhood!

A Clementine cake! Angry, as usual…

This coconut kitty is my absolute favorite of Pixelcat’s creations! The coconut fur just looks great.

This kitty has an appropriately big mouth to eat both of those fish he’s carrying.

Last, but certainly not least, I of course had to make a PICKLECAKE! I am quite honored to say that this is the cake Pixelcat chose for the birthday cake! I brought over some sparkler candles, which unfortunately didn’t spark, but in spite of that I hope Pixelcat had a wonderful birthday!
it’s my birthday!
So here’s a fun lolcat for you!
Hellcat’s coming over later, and we’re going to decorate cupcakes. I’m sure most if not all of them will be cats, so I’ll be sure to post them! Here are some I experimented with last night—they’re a little goofy!

a caturday collection: kitty cakes!
My birthday is next week, and though I’m not much of a cake person (I much prefer ice cream!), I’ve been thinking about how much fun it would be to create a kitty cakeāor how nice it’d be to receive one! Here are some cakes (and cupcakes) that I love.
I love the sweet, serene look on this kitty’s face! It doesn’t even have any icing!
This one is so much fun! I love the creativity.
I like the realistic look of the kitty cupcake cakes above. I’d love to have one that looks like one of my cats!
These cupcakes aren’t as impressive as the cakes, but they are super cute and actually within my ability to make.
Maneki neko cake!!
This simple cake is adorned with some playful fondant kitties!
Another cute cake with fondant kitties!
This cake is a little creepy, but I still love it! Nice use of craft eyes, haha.
These kitty cupcakes are precious! The bears are great, too—love the orange bowties!
I love this cake by Coco Cake Cupcakes, who we’ve featured a couple of times before. In fact, because I love them so much, I’m going to feature the maneki neko cake and cupcakes again!
Aren’t they great?! I love ‘em!
The detail in this one is amazing!
The nyanko cupcakes by alliemaries are super cute and I think I might actually be capable of making some. I love the idea of these, because nyanko is the perfect dessert kitty!
Although I love all of the cakes and cupcakes above, I think my dream kitty cake would be designed off of this:

Not necessarily with fruit, but definitely full of nyankos! Really, though, any nyanko cake would do. I’m actually surprised that I couldn’t find any out there!
strawberry felines
Okay, so this has been ‘shopped, but you can’t deny it’s cute!
And here’s a strawberry-headed cat!
The cat’s owners actually stuck some real whiskers into the strawberry to make it appear more cat-like. :)
catbus cake!
Last week I featured a maneki neko cake and cupcakes by Coco Cake Boutique Cupcakes. Here is another one of their Japanese-themed kitty cakes—Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro!
He’s a little creepy, isn’t he?
But then again, he’s kind of creepy to begin with… haha.

relaxing bento kitty
This bento box is so incredibly cute! I wonder how much time something like this takes to make. And then only to get eaten… sigh! Truly an adorable, delicious masterpiece.
