What a magnificent creature! Cheetahs have always been one of my favorite wild cats. They’re simply amazing.

big cat roarsday: do big cats like catnip?
A friend of mine posted this video on facebook, and I thought it would be perfect to share for Big Cat Roarsday. Ever wondered if big cats like catnip? The good folks over at Big Cat Rescue decided to find out one day! They gave some catnip to various big cats over at the rescue and cuteness ensued!
I couldn’t help but be reminded of Pickles when I saw the Panther! How odd that only the lion wasn’t too interested!
big cat roarsday: akasha the swimming tiger
Check out these gorgeous photos by Pacific Coast News and collected from the Daily Mail of Akasha, a female Bengal tiger living in Vallejo, California at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Click each photo to view a stunning larger version!
These big cats love to splash around and dive on a hot day. Stunning!
big cat roarsday: baby clouded leopards
This post is close to home to me—literally, because I’m right outside of Nashville, where these little one-month old clouded leopard cubs reside. Check out these adorable photos and video, courtesy of ZooBorns.
See the cubs in action!
It’s so funny to think that one day these squeaks will be roars.
big cat roarsday: lion love
I love seeing big cats loving on each other. Cuddling cats are cute, of course, but there’s something especially endearing about big cats, these huge, powerful creatures, snuggling up and caring for one another. This affection is frequently seen in lions, who, unlike other big cats that tend to live in solitude, usually live together in prides. I like all big cats, but I have a fondness in particular for lions, likely due to my childhood love of The Lion King. Here are some great photos of loving lions, most of which I found via The Big Cat Blog.
