This week’s featured feline is Bosco. Look at that handsome face! His human Sarah is going to tell us his story.
I’ve been a cat lover and owner all my life, but 6 years ago when my dog Max died and after a few year long stint without a cat I knew it was time to get another. When my friend told me a family friend’s cat had just had kittens I was put on a six week waiting list. A six week waiting list that seemed to drag on forever!
Finally though, when it was time, I went to pick out my new moggy. There were 2 little kittens sitting together on a couch when I arrived, and a long haired one in the clothes basket who got carried out to me. He was the one!
Even though I had had six weeks to choose the perfect name, I still didn’t have one the night before so I started looking through old CDs and looking at the songs on the back. When I came across a song by my favourite Aussie band called ‘Hey Bosco’ I thought it would be perfect for my new little boy. Slighly unusual but cute at the same time. It turned out to suit my slightly unusual but cute kitty perfectly!
Bosco is not your typical cat, in fact I’m convinced he thinks he’s a person! He’s independent but likes to be around at the same time, he will only drink water from a freshly poured glass, he hates beef and loves human tuna, balsamic vinegar, toast with vegemite (a weird Australian yeast spread – sounds gross but is yummy!), icecream and butter (sparingly of course). He gets excited when neighbourhood cats come to visit but only plays with our second cat every now and then and prefers to pretend he doesn’t exist, and he rarely meows and purrs almost like a whisper. But with all his quirky traits he really is the perfect cat. He is beautiful. And I love him!
