This week Shauna is going to introduce us to her pretty kitty Lucy. Just look at those lovely blue eyes!
Where/how/when did you get your cat?
Shortly after my husband and I moved out together I decided we needed a kitty companion in our lives – so enters Lucy. For the few days prior I had been scouring the Internet looking for a Siamese cat to save and came across her kitten self on a classified ad. Turns out the owners lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere so we made the few hour trek to pick up the newest member of our little family. Upon arrival we discovered that Lucy had a pretty bad case of pink eye which her current owner had been putting Neosporin on (in her poor little kitten eyes?!?!!). At one point she decided to show us the father of the litter of kittens and called out in the backyard to have literally 50 cats come running to the deck. Needless to say we were gonna get this kitten out of that place! When we finally escaped to the car she sat on the floor and looked up at me with her big blue eyes, climbed up on my lap, slept soundly on my lap the entire car ride home and I have been her mama ever since.
What’s the inspiration behind Lucy’s name?
Lucille 2 is her official name coined from the most awesome show in the history of television. But also because my grandma and I loved cats and she had a Siamese stuffed animal named Lucille after her health no longer allowed her to keep cats of her own. We call her Lucy most of the time for short but she is also occasionally known as Lu cats, Lucini, furball, bean sprout and mewacin among other silly nicknames.
How old is Lucy?
5 years now – time flies!
What breed of cat is she?
Officially she is a Silver Point Siamese but we refer to her as a Siam-Tabs.
What are her habits, likes, dislikes…?
Her Siamese self loves to meow and tell you all about the events of her day. She hearts morning bird watching and any activity involving sunshine. She is not so fond of car rides and any flavor of cat food that is not tuna.
What about favorite toys, foods, places to sleep, hobbies…?
Her most favorite toys in the entire world are mylar balls and plastic bags. She will go to great lengths to sleep on her mama’s lap. And enjoys fiercing lazer pointers and lights that appear on walls from shiny objects such as watches.
