Almost every year during the summer, my family and I go to Myrtle Beach, SC. There is nothing I love more than lying on the beach with a few cold beers! My vacation isn’t until the end of June, and I can’t wait!
In the meantime, here are some kitties who are already kicking back and enjoying the beach for Summer!
And this photo is my personal favorite, I just adore it. Who would expect to see a kitty testing out the surf? :
A dancing cat with a cupcake body, candy cane legs, and heart-shaped nose, surrounded by ice cream, lollipops, and candy canes—undoubtedly one of the most sickeningly sweet tattoos I’ve ever seen! Inked by DeviantArt user evldemon.
And the winner of the “Kitten Kitchen” print is…

This artwork by Filipino artist May Ann Licudine a.k.a. “Mall” is simply amazing. There is so much going on, and the details are fantastic. While not in the traditional maneki neko pose, the cat dons the traditional collar and bell and is also holding a gold coin. I just love how happy he looks, and I love all of the Japanese elements, especially the daruma dolls and pandas.
I was happy to find this wonderful piece of art in my search for a maneki neko to post, because all of Mall’s art is really quite lovely. You can find more of her work on her blog, DeviantArt, and Flickr. She also has a store where you can buy her original artwork as well as prints.
So, I’m a really big fan of Cheshire Cats, and Pixelcat alerted me to this one-of-a-kind, super cool Cheshire Cat shirt:
You start with a big, happy, Cheshire Cat grin. Then, when you step out into the sun:
The sunlight reveals his Cheshire stripes!! But, that’s not all!
His grin also GLOWS IN THE DARK! How cool is that?! Definitely gonna get me one of those, and I think I’d just love to pair it with these Cheshire Cat’s grin-inspired earrings by lobsterlu over at Etsy:
Just perfect! Unfortunately a bit out of my price range, now, but my birthday is coming up at the end of the Summer, and these would be a perfect way to treat myself.
Speaking of treats, I’d just love a mug of my favorite coffee, spearmint tea, or white hot chocolate in this Disappearing Cheshire Cat Mug:
How awesome is that?! And finally, a Cheshire plush (haha, I still love cat plushies–so ridiculous!) to sit on my bed:
I will definitely be going as a death metal Cheshire Cat for Halloween this year, and will post some pics up around that time. I just love the Cheshire Cat, don’t you? :3
