Have you seen Nora the piano cat? She’s quite talented! Apparently she’s been famous for the past few years, but I just now found out about her!
Nora has become an internet sensation with her mad piano playing skills. Sometimes she plays solos, and other times she’ll join in with Betsy (her owner) and Betsy’s piano students.

She’s won lots of awards (2009 ASPCA Cat of the Year, for example) and has been featured on television several times. She’s even going into the Guinness World Records! In 2010, a concerto inspired by her playing, called CATcerto, received an award for being the first concerto ever written for a cat. Yes, you read that right—written for her. Composer and conductor Mindaugas Piečaitis was so intrigued by Nora that he wrote a concerto inspired by her playing. CATcerto premiered in 2009 by the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, with Nora as a “guest soloist” via a pre-recorded video.

If only my kitties were so musically-inclined… We could start up a band!
